Gerbils, unbeaten Band Aids take early leads after Thursday night game
Jaylen Warren's 12 points gives Gerbs a 66% chance of toppling Rangers; Measly 5 points scored by Steelers D not enough to flip odds for Band Aids against Tirades

Sorry, John Lambert. I know you are a huge Steelers fan, but Thursday Night's game between the Browns and Steelers? Yawn. Went to a movie instead, then watched the MLB playoff game between the Braves and Phillies.
OK, so I switched to football after the Braves won their Wild Card series against the Phillies. Sue me. I saw the final 2:32 of the Browns win, and saw everything I needed to see. Know how many guys wearing a Cleveland Browns uniform were in starting lineups for JSFL teams last night? ZERO. NONE. There is an NFL team that just improved to 3-1 and no one has anyone from that team as a starter. Crazy.
Sure. Winless WTNE (and this might be one reason why they are winless) has rookie RB Quinshon Judkins on the bench — he scored 15. The Beaters have TE Harold Fannin, who had two TDs last week, and the Packers have WR Denzel Boston — both of those guys scored 8. But no one has much-maligned QB Deshaun Watson, who has somehow resurrected his career and had scored 19 points in his previous two games. Sure, he looked a bit ragged and only got 13 last night, but did lead his team to a game-winning FG in the final minute. And that was after future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers (also a free agent in the JSFL) capped a fourth-quarter, patented Rogers comeback effort with a QB sneak on a two-point conversion to tie.
But I digress, and no one really cares about any of this anyway. I'm just trying to pad out this otherwise boring Friday morning post.
As was alluded to earlier, the Rangers (1-2) got 14 from two Steelers on its roster — WR DK Metcalf scored 11 and K Chris Boswell had a disappointing 3 — but still fight 2-to-1 odds against to upset the Gerbils (2-1), who got 12 from RB Jaylen Warren. ESPN is predicting that Chuck Nelson's team will finish with 105, and John's RB depleted club 89.
Bob Garcia's Band Aids (3-0) is one of the two remaining unbeaten teams in the JSFL, (the Bengals Mafia, aka Who Dey, is the other) and like the Rangers, also have a tough road ahead if they want to remain unbeaten. Garcia got 5 points from the Steelers defense, which gave up a FG with seconds remaining in that 27-24 loss to the Browns. The Tirades are now predicted to win this one 105-94 and that's only if WR Puka Nacua (questionable) plays on Sunday. Bob's alternative, Ladd McConkey, is another six-point drop.
