Gibbs TD trifecta has Gerbils in front

Recliners need 31 from Eagles defense tonight; Will Invaiders late QB swap prove costly?

Jamyr Gibbs scores his third TD of the game with 2:25 to play against the Jets, capping off a league-high 33-point effort in Week 3 action for the Gerbils.

It appears the Gerbils are back in the win column again after Jamyr Gibbs scored 33 points against the Recliners on Sunday, giving Chuck Nelson's team a 125-95 lead going into tomorrow's MNF game between the Eagles and Bears. Chris Zimnoch's only hope will require a 31-point outburst from the Phlly defense, or his team will end up 0-3 while the Gerbils improve to 2-1.

One game that is still in serious doubt is the Invaiders-Who Dey clash, where a late decision at QB by Invaiders owner Vern Ahrendes has put his team in jeopardy. Vern went against common sense (and two weeks of crappy past performance data) and swapped in Justin Herbert at the last minute this morning. Herbert, who scored 12 in Week 1 and only 7 last week, was not trending in the right direction. He scored another 12 today, while benched Trevor Lawrence posted a 19. The Invaiders may very well have needed those extra 7 points as Who Dey rallied late Sunday to draw within 8 and have D'Andre Swift going tomorrow night (he's expected to score 10 and give Who Dey a third-straight win). Jaxon Smith-Njigba again led Who Dey in scoring with 24 today.

One game that's in the books saw the Band Aids improve to 3-0 with an 87-78 win over the Rangers. John Lambert was hoping for some Matt Stafford magic again tonight, but instead Stafford turned into a pumpkin in the second half against Denver, throwing two interceptions in the fourth quarter (one a pick-six) to Denver (and former 49ers) safety Talanoa Hufanga. Stafford had the Rams on the Denver 7 with two seconds left but ended the game with the second pick, instead of a game-winning TD. Bob also survived despite a subpar game from QB Josh Allen (17 points, most of them late) thanks to 16 from Garrett "Remember Me?" Wilson and 15 from RB Javonte Williams.

A couple other games are as good as over.

The Spread Beaters appear to be on their way to thier first win, that is unless WTNE's Saquon Barkley scores more than 17 points. Matt Pringle's team leads 84-67 thanks to 18 from QB Jordan Love and 13 from WR Davante Adams (all of that in receiving yardage). TE Travis Kelce added 11 for the Beaters. WR Drake London scored 19 on Thursday night and QB Dak Prescott had 18 today for Jordan Garcia's WTNE.

The Packers still have two guys to go tomorrow night got 20 from keeper RB James Cook today, but will need a huge night from Eagles tandem of QB Jalen Hurts and WR DeVonta Smith to catch up to the Tirades, who lead 124-66. Tirades QB Brock Purdy scored 30, one of six players in double figures, despite having a 45-yard TD scramble brought back by a dubious holding penalty on TE George Kittle (Go Niners!).
