Rangers, Gerbils jump out to early leads
Bucky Irving, George Pickens post big numbers on Thursday night

The good news for the Rangers on Thursday night was RB Bucky Irving. His 0-4 Bucs were going up against the 2-2 Cowboys, on the road, and definite underdogs.
Leave it to the Cowboys to fix that problem. Irving ran roughshod over the hapless Plowboys, rushing for more than 160 yards and a TD, scoring 29 points and giving John Lambert and the Rangers an early lead over Who Dey. But now the bad news… John also had the Plowboys hapless defense going: Zero points (at least it wasn’t negative!). And CeeDee Lamb all but disappeared in this one: Five targets, two catches, 9 yards. Zero points.
So even with Bucky’s big night the Rangers (1-2) are predicted to lose to Matty McCumber’s Who Dey 95-88. Sad trombone for John.
The Plowboys looked good for about 5 minutes last night, which coincidentally was the length of their opening drive. They went 63 yards in six plays, capped by RB Javonte Williams TD run. That had Band Aids (4-0) owner Bob Garcia hopping up and down with glee, but that was short-lived. Williams had 8 points on that opening drive and only added 3 the rest of the night. K Brandon Aubrey scored a season-low 5 points for Bob, giving him an early 16-0 lead over commissioner Jeff Lambert and his Packers (3-1). Those underperformers now have the Packers favored to win 94-86.
The Gerbils were the beneficiaries of CeeDee Lamb’s lack of production, as their WR George Pickens got all the attention late from Dallas (and WTNE) QB Dak Prescott. Pickens scored 19, including a TD catch, and 11 of those points came in the fourth quarter as the Plowboys desperately tried to get back in the game. Pickens has Chuck Nelson and the Gerbils (3-1) out to a 19-0 lead over the Tirades and they now have a 54% chance of winning.
The Invaiders (2-2) got 10 from Emeka Egbuka, who scored on a reverse, and they lead the Spread Beaters (1-3) 10-0. Vern Ahrendes and the Invaiders are now predicted to win 101-95.
Thanks to Dak Prescott’s fourth-quarter, WTNE (0-4) got 12 from him (instead of four or five) but that is still not going to help him beat the Recliners (1-3), who are nine-point favorites.
