Josh Allen goes off. Again.
Can he keep this up all season? Bob Garcia hopes so. The rest of us? F--- that noise.
Chris Zimnoch, I feel for you. Last week, his Recliners got pummelled by the Tirades after the opposing quarterback (Caleb Williams) erupted for an unheard-of 39 points.
Fast-forward a week, and it's happening again. The Band Aids have jumped out to a huge early lead over Zimnoch's Recliners after QB Josh Allen went off for 39 points in a 41-31 win over the Lions on Thursday night. I'd like to tell Chris, "Hey, no worries, this could never happen three weeks in a row..." but next week he takes on the Gerbils. Who have Lamar Jackson. You never know.
Anyway, back to this week. Allen tossed at least twoTD passes (actually, three) and ran for two more, the 10th time he's managed that feat in his career (Oh, in second place? Steve Young. With four). The Band Aids now, up 39-0 on the Recliners, are predicted to win by 19. Chris neads an equally big game from Jackson on Sunday.
The Bills offense looks unstoppable at this point: James Cook (Packers) ran for 130 yeards and a TD. TE Dalton Kincaid (Tirades) finally is fully healthy and living up to the hype with 205 receiving yards and a TD in his first two games.
The only Debbie Downer for the Bills affects the Rangers. DJ Moore, the WR that was expected to be the Bills savior in 2026, left in the second quarter with a shoulder injury, but John Lambert doesn't even have Moore in his starting lineup (nor Malik Nabers, for that matter... two guys who'd start for most teams are benchwarmers for John).
One of the Rangers starting WRs (his keeper, in fact) is Amon-Ra St. Brown, who also played last night. St. Brown had 100+ yards and a TD through three quarters and that pushed the Rangers out to an early 17-15 lead over the Tirades (who had Kincaid going). But then St. Brown scored another TD in garbage time to extend the Rangers lead to 26-15 and that touchdown flipped the odds for John and the Rangers, who moved into a predicted tie (110-110) after going in as a six-point underdog.
Thanks to Cook, who also scored a late TD and an extra 40+ yards as the Bills were trying to run out the clock, the Packers jumped out to a 19-7 lead over WTNE. Jeff Lambert's defending champs are now predicted to win by 11. Jordan Garcia's team got 7 last night from Detroit K Jake Bates.
The final game that involved players going last night saw the Gerbils jump out to an early 17-3 lead over the Invaiders thanks to Lions RB and Chuck Nelson's keeper Jamyr Gibbs, who scored 17 (he was predicted to post 19). Vern Ahrendes got only 3 from WR Jameson Williams of Detroit (he was predicted to get 7).
The other Week Two matchup is the Battle of the Matts as Matty McCumber's Who Dey goes against Matt Pringle's Spread Beaters. Neither team had anyone starting from the Bills or Lions, so they'll have to wait for Sunday to start their scoring.
Speaking of Sunday scoring, I'm hoping Kelly and I will see a lot (especially from Christian McCaffrey!) at Levi's Stadium while watching the Dolphins get hammered by the 49ers.
