They are what we thought they were

After all is said and done, the JSFL playoff teams end up the ones we expected to be there months ago: Packers, Recliners, Beaters and Gerbils
It's official. The 2025 JSFL playoff teams finished with a resounding statement: "We belong in the postseason." All four teams ended the season with 100+ point games, and three of the four posted victories to close out the regular season. Unfortunately for Chuck Nelson, his Gerbils were playing another playoff contender last week and 107 points was not enough for the win over Chris Zimnoch's Recliners.
So cheers to Jeff Lambert and the Packers (13-2). Jeff's got the highest-scoring team in the league this season by a long shot (1,616 points, 107.7 a game) and is looking to have his name engraved on the trophy for a record (who can count that high?) en-teenth time. Sixth? Seventh? Eighth? Who knows. I do know he'll e-mail me later with the number.
Cheers to Chris and his Recliners (10-5), who won the Silent Division title and have the second-highest scoring team this season (1,521 points, 101.4 a game).
Cheers to Matt Pringle and the Spread Beaters (also 10-5, despite a playoff-participant low 1,387 points, 92.4 a game) who made the moves down the stretch to bolster his offense and grab the No. 3 seed. Pringle traded for RBs Jonathan Taylor and Derrick Henry after drafting four rookie RBs to start the season.
Cheers to Chuck Nelson and the Gerbils (9-6) who finished second in the Shit Talkers Division and had the third-highest scoring team in the league (1,428 points, 95.2 a game) with a team that was predicted to finish seventh overall at the beginning of the season. His immediate problem, however, is replacing QB Pat Mahomes (torn ACL on Sunday) now that his other QB, Baker Mayfield, has cooled off -- not much MVP chatter about Baker these days. Speaking of cooling off, Chuck's keeper, RB Jamyr Gibbs, has been awesome all season (16.2 points a game) but inconsistent of late (5-29-7 in his last three).
But on to the postseason!
We no longer have to discuss the disappointment of Jordan Garcia and WTNE (8-7), who just missed a playoff spot and ended the season with a lopsided loss to the Packers.
Or the ups-and-downs of Vern Ahrendes and the Invaiders (also 8-7), who finished with a win, but one that was a week too late.
Or the inconsistency of yours truly and the Tirades (4-11), who somehow managed two 130+ point wins this season, which ended up costing them the No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft.
Or defending champion Bob Garcia and his Band Aids (4-11), who could never recover from all the draft picks he traded away in order to win it all in 2024 but did end up with the first pick in the 2026 draft.
Or John Lambert and the Rangers (also 4-11), who protected a QB (Jalen Hurts) going into the draft and then grabbed another (Josh Allen) with his first pick, then did not trade either of them down the stretch.
Or Matty McCumber's streaky Who Dey (5-10), who started 0-4, rolled off four straight wins to get back into the fray, and then hit the wall and went 1-6 the rest of the way.
Swami update
What a week it was -- and month, for that matter -- for the Swami. A perfect 5-0 for the second consecutive week and 17-3 for the month. Wow. Just wow. And he was perfect on the spread as well. He's now 48-27 on the season and now only has to get three games correct the rest of the way.
Week 15 Recap
Packers 126, WTNE 94: RB James Cook ran all over the vaunted New England defense (28 points), QB Drake Maye put up 20 against Buffalo and the Philly Defense added 16 as the Pack cruised into the playoffs as the No. 1 seed. Seattle kicker Jason Myers led WTNE (which is typically a bad sign) but he did have 24 points, so not the usual mocking that would happen here. QB C.J. Stroud had 23 and RB Saquon Barkley 14 for Jordan.
Recliners 117, Gerbils 107: TE Trey McBride led the Recliners with 25 points, and LA Rams teammates RB Kyren Williams and QB Matt Stafford added 20 each as the Recliners took care of business in the regular season finale between two playoff teams. RB Travis Etienne Jr. had a season-high 28 points for the Gerbils, who also got 19 from TE Dallas Goedert and 17 from WR Courtland Sutton.
Beaters 116, Rangers 96: WR Amon-Ra St. Brown scored 28 points, his second-best game of the season, to lead Pringle to the win. QB Jaxson Dart had 21, WR Nico Collins 20 and TE George Kittle (Go Niners!) had 14 for the Spread Beaters. QB Allen (23) and Flex Josh Jacobs (20) led the Rangers.
Band Aids 86, Tirades 62: Unfortunately for yours truly and the Tirades, the Band Aids only won by 24 points, not 71, so Bob was able to hang on to the No. 1 pick in the draft and the Tirades, one of three teams to finish 4-11, will draft third (the Rangers will draft second, thanks to the second-worst scoring output behind the Band Aids). QB Caleb Williams led the way for Bob's crew with 18 points. RB Jameson Williams added 15 and WR Wandale Robinson 11. Mark my words, this will be the last time this sentence will ever be written: QB Marcus Mariota led the Tirades with 15 points.
Invaiders 84, Who Dey 82: Vern's boys rallied for one last win on the season and finished over .500 as a result, tied for third in the Silent Division. RB TreVeon Henderson led the way with 27 points and two brilliant, long scoring runs in the snow against the Bills and RB Bijan Robinson, who was cajoled away from the Recliners on the trade deadline, added 22. Wr Jameson Williams led Who Dey with 19.
