It's the usual suspects atop the Silent Division standings

WTNE, Recliners and Spread Beaters all post victories in Week 2 to remain unbeaten

The Recliners may have lost QB Joe Burrow for the season with a broken toe.
First off, we should be a little concerned anytime the Swami's predictions are this accurate. Starting the season 9-1? That's unheard of. It's not natural. It's a little scary, kind of like losing your starting quarterback for the season early in the second game.
That's exactly what happened to Chris Zimnoch and the Recliners last week. QB Joe Burrow breaks his toe and -- boom -- see you, Joe, maybe in three months. Does it affect the Recliners? Nah, not really. Not yet, anyway. Sub in Folsom, California's finest -- former University of Washington QB Jake Browning -- and despite a couple picks, he helps the Recliners with 24 points off the bench en route to a behind-the-woodshed beating down of the Band Aids.
Matt Pringle's Spread Beaters got 29 from Amon-Ra St. Brown and coasted to a win over Who Dey.
And Jordan Garcia got just enough (19 points) out of Justin Herbert in the late game on Monday night to turn the tables on the Packers.
So three teams lead the way in the Silent Division at 2-0, trailed by the Invaiders (1-1) and the Rangers (0-2) who at least managed to play the correct superstar quarterback this week.
Over in the ST division we also have a three-way tie -- of mediocracy. The leaders are all 1-1 after the Gerbils, led by QB Pat Mahomes (21) and RB Jamyr Gibbs (16) defeated Vern Ahrendes' Invaiders and the Tirades handled John Lambert's Rangers. Jeff Lambert's Pack fell to 1-1 after the loss to WTNE despite being the third highest scoring team in the league (behind WTNE and the Recliners). The Band Aids and Who Dey are 0-2.
Other notable injuries last weekend: Invaiders backup QB Justin Fields has a concussion, and we can't recall if he will miss time or not; Matt McCumber lost starting WR Jayden Reed for the season with a broken collarbone last Thursday; the Rangers saw RB Aaron Jones go down with a hamstring injury late in Sunday's game, and he's likely to miss at least a week.

RECLINERS 118, BAND AIDS 92: Sure, Bengals backup Jake Browning came through with 24 points after Burrow went down. But this was against the Jaguars... can he do it against a defense that isn't lousy? We'll see. Otherwise, Chris will move on and hope for the best with Dak Prescott (who scored 21 on the bench). After that it was the usual suspects for the Recliners: Puka Nacua had 19 points and keeper Bijan Robinson 16. For the Band Aids, QB Caleb Williams and RB Javonte Williams each had 18. On the bench: Jaylen Waddle's 12 points would have been better than DK Metcalf's 8 for the Recliners. Band Aids backup QB Jared Goff had 33.
WTNE 108, PACKERS 104: WR Malik Nabers went wild for 28 points (a lot of those scored despite "double coverage" from the Dallas "defense") as Jordan posted a come-from-behind win over Jeff's Pack on Monday night. RBs Saquon Barkley and Alvin Kamara combined for 25 more for WTNE. QB Lamar Jackson and RB James Cook both had 25 for the Pack. On the Bench: Nothing would have improved Jordan's week. Jeff could have won had he started any of these three -- K Brandon Aubrey (22) over Cameron Dicker (8), WR George Pickens (12) instead of AJ Brown (2) or TE Zach Ertz (12) over Sam LaPorta (2).
BEATERS 99, WHO DEY 75: In addition to St. Brown's big day, Matt P got 18 from TE Tucker Kraft and 19 from QB Jayden Daniels. Matty M got 20 from QB Jordan Love and 13 from the Chargers defense. On the Bench: Only help for Matty would not have been enough, WR Jameson Williams (18) over Smith-Njigba (8) or the injured Reed (0). For the Beaters, D'Andre Smith (11) over Ashton Jeanty (4).
TIRADES 79, RANGERS 61: The Tirades got 28 from RB Jonathan Taylor and 22 from WR Ja'Marr Chase 22 and not a whole lot else from anybody in the win over John's Rangers. John got 21 from starting QB Josh Allen, who was on the bench in Week 1. Speaking of On the Bench: Tirades started soon-to-be-released QB JJ McCarthy instead of going with 49ers backup Mac Jones. Big mistake, as Jones scored 22 and McCarthy, who looked horrible in the process, scored only 3 and also got injured. Also, recently acquired WR Quentin Johnston asked coaches "why pick me up to bench me?" as he scored 13 and starter Marvin Harrison did a disappearing act (2). For the Rangers, RB Rhamondre Stevenson's 15 would have been better than Aaron Jones' 2.
GERBILS 78, INVAIDERS 72: Welcome to the win column, Chuck Nelson. In addition to Mahomes' big day, Chuck got 16 each from RB Gibbs and WR Davante Adams. RB Jaylen Warren added 12. Again, when Vern's kicker is his high scorer, you know there are problems. For the second week in a row, K Matt Prater's 14 led the team. On the Bench: Let's stick with the Invaders. QB Bo Nix had 20 and would have given his team a win if he'd been in there instead of Caleb Williams. RB Kenneth Walker III had 17 on the pine, better than both starters combined (Kyren Williams 7 and Jordan Mason 3). For the Gerbils, WR Rome Odunze (25) would have been better than Courtland Sutton's donut.
