It's a points explosion!

Invaiders lead a quintet of teams that hit triple digits and win in Week 8, scoring a season-high 135 in a rout of the Rangers; on the other end of the spectrum, the Band Aids went into a coma and scored a season-low 71

WR CeeDee Lamb pointed the way to the end zone and an easy Invaiders victory last week, scoring a season-high 28 points.
It was feast or famine in Week 8 for many JSFL teams. Vern Ahrendes' Invaiders led the way, improving to .500 with a lopsided win over the Rangers the week after trading away their best QB to the division-rival Spread Beaters (who used said QB to score an equally big win over the punchless Tirades). The Packers throttled the Recliners and the Saddles kept pace with a win over the Gerbils. Finally, WTNE routed the suddenly impotent Band Aids.
None of that really changed the Standings much, however. The Band Aids dropped to 6-2 and their lead in the ST division dropped to one game, as the Pack and Saddles improved to 5-3. Over in the Silent Division, it looks very similar: WTNE is 6-2 and a game up on the Rangers, with the dangerous Spread Beaters and the Jekyll/Hyde Invalids/Invaiders both two games back at 4-4.
SWAMI UPDATE: Not bad... he had a 3-2 week and got off the schnide after going 1-4 the previous week. Of course one of those losses was predicting his own team to lose. He's now 23-17 on the season, which is a better winning percentage than his own team has.
INVAIDERS 135, RANGERS 94: Sure, he traded away Tua. Now he has to play Lamar Jackson, who's scoring less than Janet Jackson (or Michael). But none of that matters much when you get 24 from rookie RB Jamyr Gibbs, 22 more from resurgent Alvin Kamara and 28 from the wife's favorite Cowboy, WR CeeDee Lamb. Only his TE (Kyle Pitts, 3) and WR Stefon Diggs (7, so he had an off week) did not score in double figures. Maybe Vern needs to go shopping for a TE? I know the Recliners have depth there. And the Tirades would sell one cheap. QB Jalen Hurts led the Rangers with 27.
WTNE 125, BAND AIDS 71: Sure, that's what we get for putting the division crown on Bob Garcia's head halfway through the season. His Band Aids promptly start hemorrhaging uncontrollably. Jordan got the usual (23 points in this case) from the RB machine that is Christian McCaffrey. QB Justin Herbert added 23 more and WR Jaylen Waddle scored 18. Even K Brandon McManus had a good day (16). Bob's Band Aids were led by Bijan Robinson's 12 points. QB Patrick "I Have the Flu, Assholes!" Mahomes scored a season-low 6 points.
SPREAD BEATERS 121, TIRADES 84: Matt Pringle bounced back in a big way, getting off the mat from last week's disappointing defeat to the Rangers by taking the Tirades to the woodshed. For the second consecutive week, WR AJ Brown led the team in scoring, this time with 25, and Tyreek Hill added 17 more. Tua Tagovailoa, acquired last week in a trade with the Invalids/Invaiders, scored 21. The only guys not in double figures for the Beaters were RB Isiah Pacheco (4) and kicker Tyler Bass (6). Had it not been for free-agent pickup RB Gus Edwards (27 points) the Tirades would have had almost no offensive output whatsoever. Even Cooper Fucking Kupp (2) had a bad day.
PACKERS 109, RECLINERS 55: Jeff Lambert could have started his bench and almost won this one (curse you, Kyren Williams, for messing up my lede by scoring zero). QB Josh Allen led the way for the Pack with 28 and Travis Etienne Jr continued his stellar season with 22 more. Ja'Marr Chase added 16. Trevor Lawrence had 14 and the Giants defense 12 for the Recliners and those were the only scorers who reached double figures for the team.
SADDLES 102, GERBILS 95: It's not often a team puts up 102 points and is the afterthought in the weekly roundup, but that's where you end up when it is Points Explosion Week. Blayze Hanson's team got 27 from QB Dak Prescott and 16 more from RB Joe Mixon, who cut through the 49ers defense like a knife through room-temperature butter. The winless Gerbils were led by RB Austin Ekeler's 16 points.
