Vern Ahrendes team (4-1) tries to hold on to the Silent Division lead; Jeff Lambert aims to regain a tie in Shit Talkers Division

If Chris Godwin proves to be a prime target for Tom Brady, it could be big for the Pack.
Yeah, I know. The Invaiders are in first? And they're the Game of the Week in the JSFL? Has hell frozen over? Did the Eagles break up again? Cats and dogs living together? What next!
Well, it's not really Vern's fault that his team has bumbled and stumbled to a division lead. The JSFL Today staff blames his opponents for not scoring enough, same goes for the Tirades in the other division -- I mean, come on, guys! That team started an injured running back two weeks in a row and they still won. That's just BS. And injured starters is yet another reason why the Tirades are not featured in Week 6 ... they will barely be able to field a team this week as they face the Blazing Saddles in another battle between a division leader and a 3-2 upstart team that could end up with three teams sharing the division lead next Tuesday. In other action, the Recliners and Rangers face off; the Pillows continue to look for their first win, this time against the Rangers; and in the who-gives-a-crap game, the Band Aids and Gerbils clash.
Invaiders (-10) vs Packers: Vern thinks that it may have been 22 years since his team beat Jeff's, and I don't have the time nor the energy to confirm or refute that fact. All I know is A) It's possible, since Vern only has to face Jeff once per season; B) Jeff usually has a competitive team and C) Vern is Vern. He's got Austin Eckler, who scored 136 points last week (OK, it was only 28, but I'm sure it felt like a lot more to Matt Pringle, who lost by one freaking point as a result), but lightning won't strike two weeks in a row and Vern's other RB (Antonio Gibson) is questionable and also probably worried about his e-mail getting leaked. We think that the 49ers defensive work against Kyler Murray was pretty damn good, and Cleveland was watching. The Pack has health issues at RB as well. Aaron Jones is questionable. Jeff picked up Chicago's backup Damien Williams after David Montgomery went down, and now they're both out. Jeff's limited options are releasing Williams or Trey Sermon of SF, who's on a bye week, and grabbing the Bears third-stringer or someone other available stiff. He will need to ride QB Josh Allen and hope for breakout games from WRs Mike Williams and Chris Godwin (who hasn't scored much despite Tom Brady throwing for 5 TDs a game to other guys) if he aims to win this one. Invaiders by 6.
Saddles (-2) vs Tirades: Unless Dalvin Cook can go this weekend -- he is questionable again and Tirades owner Ron Hender may have a Sunday morning flight for the third consecutive week -- the Tirades don't have a hope in hell to win this. At least Cook's backup Alexander Mattison is currently in the lineup, poised to score in double-digits again if Cook sits, but Cook was a full particpant in Thursday's practice, so... Even that may not help against the resurgent Saddles, who would move into a tie for the division lead with a win. Blayze has no health issues, all his starters ready to roll. This won't be close. Saddles by 12.
Recliners (-3) vs Beaters: Chris has been on a roll of late (thanks, Tom Brady!) but he's got two questionable running backs in Mixon and Zeke. Well, so does Matt Pringle, who has both Browns (Chubb and Hunt) starting and those guys are both questionable, too. The problem for Pringle is he has nobody else: Barkley's out and Corderelle Patterson, whom he grabbed after the Tirades released him, is on a bye week. We may see some desperate moves on the waiver wire come Sunday morning. In the end, you have to choose the guy that does not pop off about the baseball playoffs. Recliners by 2.
Rangers (-6) vs Pillows: Is this the week that defending champ Matt Huey gets a win? Nope. Rangers by 10.
Gerbils (-2) vs Band Aids: These Dodger-lovers deserve each other, and I hope this meaningless game ends in a tie.
