Invaiders, Pillows jump to early leads after Thursday game

Neither David Montgomery nor Terry "No High Scorin" McLaurin manage to crack double-digits

ree

"What, you expected more than 7 points, Vern?" That seems to be what David Montgomery is thinking after his performance against the Washington Commanders on Thursday.

The Invaiders (3-2) took an early 7-0 lead in their matchup against the Packers (2-3) after Thursday night's extremely ugly Bears-Commanders game thanks to Montgomery, who ran for 67 yards on 15 carries and hauled in one pass for 13 yards. Washington won at home, 12-7. Imagine the excitement for those fans who paid $200 a seat to watch that! Montgomery continued to underperform, he's now 0-4 in the ESPN "Boom" category in the "Boom or Bust" statistics.

Matt Huey's Pillow Biters (3-2) went up by a 5-0 score over the Rangers (2-3) thanks to a perfectly typical effort from former Tirades washout WR McLaurin, who is still aimlessly searching for the success he had in 2020, back when his Commanders had a quarterback that could A) find his own receivers and B) deliver a pass to one of them on a consistent basis. McLaurin had 3 receptions for 41 yards and ran the ball twice for 11 more. He has not scored a TD since early 2021 (and, not surprisingly, was on the bench when he did). In ESPN's "Boom or Bust" category, McLaurin is 0-5 in the "Boom" category.

And, because I am anticipating some reaction from the peanut gallery for this unusual Friday update on JSFLToday, the answer is yes, I was that bored.
