Matt Pringle's team wins a shootout over Recliners to take over Silent Division lead; Jeff Lambert and his Pack are back (again) and breathing down the Gerbils' neck in ST Division

Rico Dowdle thinks he's the MVP of the JSFL, scoring close to 30 points for the second straight week. Too bad for Dowdle and Chris Zimnoch's Recliners, though ... they picked the wrong week to score "only" 112 points.
That's because the Spread Beaters scored 119 behind a balanced attack and improved to 5-1 in the process, taking over sole possession of first place in the Silent Division. The Recliners (4-2) dropped into second.
Meanwhile, Chuck Nelson and the Gerbils took care of business (well, sort of, they scored only 75 points) against the Band Aids to also improve to 5-1 on the season and are a game up on the 4-2 Packers, who routed the Invaiders by 49 points. Rounding out the weekend, John Lambert's Rangers plowed over son-in-law Jordan Garcia's WTNE and Matty McCumber's Who Dey won for the second week in a row, defeating the hapless Tirades.
Injury Report
The Tirades were driving to Tampa for the 49ers-Bucs game so didn't have the opportunity to sub out WR Quentin Johnston, who was questionable with a pulled hammy and later ruled out of Sunday's game. He might be back this week. Other receivers that were sidelined during Sunday games included Puca Nacua (ankle, doubtful for Week 7), Garrett Wilson (knee, doubtful), Marvin Harrison Jr (concussion, questionable), Emeka Egbuka (hammy, doubtful) and Calvin Ridley (hammy, doubtful).
RB Emari Demercado (ankle, on a bye week) might be back for Week 8. Out for extended periods are Chuba Hubbard (calf, see Rico Dowdle, below); Omarion Hampton (ankle, see Kimani Vidal on the waiver wire pickups tomorrow); Alvin Kamara (ankle) and Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) were also out.
In the QB room, the Ravens might be missing QB Lamar Jackson (hammy, questionable) more than Jeff Lambert did, after Drake Maye scored 26 points off the bench in the Packers win. Brock Purdy might be back this week for the 49ers (and Tirades). Kyler Murray (foot, questionable) is expected to be back for
Swami update
Again, it was a rough week for the Swami, who went 2-3 and is now 18-12 on the season. The Tirades didn't help here, unable to cover a 40-point spread for starters and unable to beat a team that could only muster 79. Same goes for WTNE, which lost by 35.
Week 6 results
PACKERS 124, INVAIDERS 75: An unexpected 26 points from back QB Maye was an inkling that this one could turn into a rout. When George Pickens scored 22 and De'Von Achane 26, it was already almost enough to win it. Only the Eagles defense (-2) underperformed for Jeff's Packers (4-2). WR Brian Thomas Jr. led the Invaiders (3-3) with 15.
BEATERS 119, RECLINERS 112: This one was billed as the Game of the Week, and it was more like the Game of the Year, (or at least the regular season). With Jayden Daniels back at QB and a surprising effort from Bears RB D'Andre Swift (both scored a team-high 22 points), the Beaters (5-1) got double-digit scoring from everywhere except the starting WRs (Amon-Ra St. Brown had 4 and Keenan Allen 2). It did not help Chris that his starting QB, Matt Stafford, could only manage 10 against the Ravens defense. The Recliners (4-2) RBs kept them in it, though, as both super-sub Dowdle and Bijan Robinson scored 29. The Rams defense scored 17 and TE Trey McBride added 13.
RANGERS 108, WTNE 73: In an upset of stunning proportions, the previously winless Rangers (1-5) took this one in a rout. John's RBs led the way as Josh Jacobs scored 26 and Cam Skattebo had a shocking 28. QB Josh Allen posted a 15 as the Bills lost for the second straight week. QB Justin Herbert led WTNE (3-3) with 18.
WHO DEY 79, TIRADES 64: Matty's crew (2-4) won for the second week in a row as WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba went off for 22 and QB Trevor Lawrence had 18. RBs Jonathan Taylor had 19 and WR Ja'Marr Chase 15 and were the only Tirades (2-4) starters to come close to their projected scoring (20 and 9, respectively).
GERBILS 75, BAND AIDS 68: QB Patrick Mahomes went off for 31 in a Sunday night win over the Lions and TE Dallas Goedert added 17 for the Gerbils (5-1) as they remained atop the Shit Talkers Division with the win. Those two were the only Gerbils to score in double figures, however. Luckily Chuck was playing Bob Garcia's (1-5) team, which leads the league in guys not scoring in double figures (this week, seven of 9).
