Band Aids hold off Rangers, win 2024 title

Rangers don't get enough from TE George Kittle on Monday night to secure an upset victory

Band Aids owner Bob Garcia and his GM Cathleen Garcia celebrate the 2024 JSFL Title.

Congrats to Bob Garcia and the Band Aids who held off a late charge by John Lambert's Rangers to win the JSFL Super Bowl by a 105-99 margin.

The Rangers made things interesting on Monday night as their TE George Kittle caught 8 passes for 112 yards and nearly scored on two of those passes, getting knocked down on a 3 yard line on a pass in the second quarter and then getting dragged down at the 5 yard line in the game's final minute.

The late almost-score by Kittle had Bob worried. "Time to go change my shorts," he said. "Kittle had me shitting my pants."

The Band Aids got 29 from QB Lamar Jackson and 21 from RB Derrick Henry, but had to survive two donuts from a pair of previously reliable scorers: WR Terry McLaurin and RB James Conner, both of whom helped lead the team to a first-round victory. Filling the void was the Philly defense, which came through with 19, and K Chase McLauglin (12).

Garcia, who lost in the final to the Beaters last season, last won a JSFL title in 2017. It would have been the first-ever title for Lambert, had Kittle managed to come through. Kittle finished with 11 points.

"No fucking comment," said Lambert after throwing his headset to the turf and storming off the field.

Leading the Rangers in defeat were QB Kenny Pickett, playing in place of an injured Jalen Hurts, who nevertheless scored 25 points. WR Mike Evans scored 21 and the Bills defense 12 for John's team.

In the games that didn't mean anything, WTNE took third place with a 105-93 win over the Recliners; the Tirades topped the Invaiders 102-96 for fifth place; The Gerbils had the big score of the weekend with a 124-75 win over Who Dey for seventh place and the Packers won the Toilet Bowl (and ninth place) with an 88-74 win over the Beaters.

See you in August!
