For those dealing with questions around injured players, it gets worse as the NFL decided to give six teams the week off at one of the most crucial junctures in the fantasy football landscape

This kind of rude treatment from the Browns defense last weekend -- well, he has injured ribs, not a sprained neck -- may have Christian McCaffrey on the bench this week for WTNE.
If you looked at the waiver wire activity this week, you know it is a crazy time if that many adds and drops are happening.
As most of you saw, Week 6 was brutal with another rash of injuries. RB Christian McCaffrey (oblique and ribs), is questionable for Monday night and may not be back until Week 10; David Montgomery (ribs) is out for “awhile” and is unlikely in Week 7, has a bye in Week 9 and may not be back until Week 10; WR Deebo Samuel (shoulder) also is listed as questionable; QB Justin Fields (thumb) is to be determined; and RB Kyren Williams (ankle) may not be back until Week 11 (was that one of those Voodoo Vern issues? Score a garbage-time TD against the Invaiders and the cauldron comes out).
The six teams taking Week 7 off are the Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, New York Jets and the Tennessee Titans.
Thankfully, the London games are over and we won’t restart the NFL Europe tour until November 5. This week, the action kicks off Thursday with the Jacksonville Jaguars at the New Orleans Saints. The Dolphins and Eagles get the spotlight Sunday night, and the 49ers travel to Minnesota on Monday night.
Four of the five games on the slate this week have dogs by more than 15 points. Only one game, an intriguing interleague match between the Silent Division co-leading WTNE against the upstart 49er-tilted Tirades. You know it is dismal when the Tirades are in the “Game of the Week.”
Game of the Week
WTNE vs. Tirades, WTNE favored by 3: If we knew if Christian McCaffrey was going to play Monday night, it would make this preview a lot easier to write. My 49ers gut tells me he takes the week off to get healthy and Jordan will have to turn to Seattle backup Zach Charbonnet and the projected score for WTNE drops from 90 to the mid-70s and the Tirades become the favored team. Even with McCaffrey in the mix, the Tirades hold most of the lineup projections at RB2 (Zach Evans of the Rams over Rachaad White of Tampa), both WRs (Cooper Fucking Kupp and Brandon Aiyuk over DJ Moore and Calvin Ridley) and the TE (Sam LaPorta of Detroit over David Njoku). We will go ahead and call the underdog before any more lineup announcements come out Sunday morning and say take the Tirades. Take the Tirades and 5.
Best of the Rest
Rangers vs. Spread Beaters, Beaters favored by 16: The Spread Beaters have a big advantage at nearly every position and are favored big in this one. The advantage goes to Matt at RB2 (D’Andre Swift over Jaylen Warren), both WRs (Tyreek Hill and A.J. Brown over George Pickens and Michael Thomas), and TE (T.J. Hockenson over Cole Kmet). Take the Beaters and 10.
Blazing Saddles vs. Band Aids, Band Aids favored by 20: Wow, the trash talking in Southern California has to be off the chart this week as father-in-law Bob is favored big over Blayze and his Blazing Saddles. The Band Aids are favored at QB (Patrick Mahomes over Jordan Love), both RBs (Kenneth Walker III and Raheem Mostert over Jonathan Taylor and Kareem Hunt), TE (Mark Andrews over Gerald Evertt) and flex (Bijan Robinson over Amari Cooper).
We want to pick the big dog, but every time we pick Blayze he loses. So, we lean Saddles in the upset. Blazing Saddles by 1.
Dogs of the Week
Recliners vs. Invaiders, Invaiders favored by 11: This could be the Desperation Bowl for both of these teams. The Invaiders, at 2-4, are struggling to get back to .500 and the Recliners, at 3-3, sit in a two-way tie for third place with the Spread Beaters. Whoever loses this one, might be done before October is over. The Invaiders are heavily favored at QB (Tua over Trevor Lawrence) and both RBs (Saquon Barkley and Alvin Kamara over Aaron Jones and Zack Moss), WR2 (Stefon Diggs over Zay Flowers) and flex (Jaymyr Gibbs over DK Metcalf).
The Recliners are favored only at TE with Travis Kelce. But, since Vern can’t get anyone to score TDs this season, we think Chris ends the Invaiders’ season this week. Take the Recliners and 3
Gerbils vs. Packers, Packers favored by 5: Jeff went shopping on the waiver wire this week to fill a gaping hole at tight end (Jonnu Smith) and it might be enough to hold off the Gerbils in this dog. Woof. The Packers hold the betting edge at QB (Josh Allen over Jared Goff), WR1 (Mike Evans over DeVonta Smith) and defense (the 49ers over the Chiefs). This might just end up being the blow out we think it will be. Take the Pack and 10.
